Minibattle 13:20

Here are presented, how goes Minibattle between Uxbridge and Milhaud. Without bright bases.
Because I don't have proper British cavalry painted, Austrians will proxy the British.
Uxbridge managed to line up British cavalry to have wider front against Milhauds cuirassieurs in deep order.
Odds clearly favored British. French will use 2 dices for clash, but both British Units will be use the best result from two dices.
As only one kill per Turn may be caused by one unit, the British clearly are able to change their 5:4 superiority in "lives" to even bigger 4:2 advantage.

Little green dots near Units names indicates Units characteristics. Similar markings are with Units on table, like flowers in the meadow.
First column from left shows the type of Unit. Two dots mean light cavalry and three dots mean line cavalry.
Second column shows Unit's Drill level and third column shows Unit's Experience level. Fourth column shows Unit's extra Morale (Bravery).
Infantry have the same markings but Cavalry additionally have fifth column, showing Horse Size/Quality.
Last two dots here are order/disorder markers and these are presented on table by separate markers, like flags, drums, officers etc. Accordingly to your taste.

Charge. Charge Values are different for Infantry and Cavalry.
Cavalry Charge Value is Type-2 + Drill + Horse Size + both Order markers. So for French Cuirassieurs this is 7.
For success French player must throw 7 or less. French player throws 3 and 2. Two Hits, first of them will be Kill.
Ponsonby's Charge value is 9. British player throws 6 and 0. Now he may choose, which one to use, because "0" causes hit against General in enemy's Unit.
Killing the troopers is more important now, so Ponsonby choose to use result "6".
Because the French haved cuirasses, "1" will be added to result. But "7" is anyway smaller than "9", so Ponsonby causes Kill to French. Vivian do the same.

Casualties are marked. French loses all their first line killed, two "lives". Vivian loses one "live" and Ponsonby get one disorder (Trumpeter marker removed).
All goes predicable.

First Bravery Test. Cavalry Unit's Bravery Value is Experience + Moral + Horse Size + High Order marker (Flag, Officer).
For Milhaud Cuirassieurs this is "7". Milhaud throws "0" ("10") and failed.
But French cavalry was in deep formation (more than 2 "lives"), so they may repeat test for second line.
On second throw French get "5". But as their enemys line was wider, 1 will be added to result.
Anyway, "6" is smaller than "7" and French passed the Test.

Ponsonby's Bravery Value is "6". He throw "4". From this result will be subtracted Uxbridges Morale (Initiative) Value "1" because Uxbridge is inside of Unit.
"3" is smaller than "6" and Ponsonby passes the Test. Vivian do the same.

As both sides refused to retreat, fighting continues with "Melee" cycles until one side will break or be destroyed.
Cavalry Melee Value is 2-Type + Experience + Moral + Horse Size + High Order marker.
For Milhaud Cuirassieurs this is "6". Milhaud throws "3" and "6". Two Hits.
Ponsonby's Melee value is "5". Ponsonby throws "4" and "5", but as French wear double cuirasses, "1" will be added to results. One Hit.
Also one Hit from Vivian.

Milhaud get full disorder.
Ponsonby and Vivian loses one order point/marker both.

Bravery Test after Melee. No bonuses from wider front and second line anymore.
Milhaud and Ponsonby are in full disorder and their basic bravery are smaller thanks to missing of High Order marker.
All units passed the Test and Melee continues.

As Ponsonby and Milhaud both are in full disorder, every Hit will cause Kill to them.
This mean, that Milhaud may be completely destroyed in this Minibattle turn.
But all contesters throwed so big results, that no casualties caused at all.
However, Ponsonby throw "0", so there are danger to General Milhaud.
But Milhaud escapes from threat by throwing "2" with 1d6, losing only his horse.

On next Bravery Test Vivian suddenly breaks and fleed from Melee.
Ponsonby and Milhaud stays head to head now with equal strenght in numbers but with lightly better odds for Milhaud because of experience and cuirasses.
British supremacy is broken.

One Hit from both in Melee.
All is equal.

Both loses one "life". Because of full disorder Hit becomes to Kill.

And now suddenly breaks Ponsonby.
British Cavalry flees. French pursued and caused another Hit. Ponsonby is routed.

Unexpected and glorious Victory for French.
Also Pyrrhic Victory, as both sides loses 3 "lives" and Milhaud have only one "life" left.

If Milhaud continue charge, he will hit the flank of Collaert.
There are chance, that Collaert will be broken and flee even before he have possibility to fight back.
But if they have such possibility then every scratch will destroy fully disordered Milhaud.

Fire:

Restore:

2017-07-22
3rd turn at 11:40 a c'lock.

Some hints:
Allix (in full order) are in Battle Contact with Ompteda and therefore have three options.
1. Stand where he is and enemy have superiority in artillery - Alten and protected Ompteda.
2. Move closer for line fire musketry. Ompteda then on next turn will throw one dice (1d10 - "6" or less for kill) and Allix two dices (2d10 - "4" or less for kill).
Allix with his numerical superiority need only one resultative throw to rout Ompteda.
Moving closer is free, no order from generals needed.
3. Charge. D'Erlon or Ney must come and give this order.
If initial charge is successful, Ompteda will be routed immediately and village captured.
Otherwise Omptedas morale in village is 8 against Allix 5 (or 7, if Ney lead the charge) and Ompteda may repulse the charge.

Donzelot loses all order points (Drum, Flag) and next Hits caused Kills.
So best solution is to stop Division before moving in Battle Contact and restore order.
D'Erlon ride inside this Division and may give order to restore. One Restore Order from General removes one disorder from Division.
So also Ney may come in and remove another disorder, then Division may enter in Battle Contact on next turn with full order.
Removing Disorders is one of main tasks for Generals, to keep their troops in good order.

Marcognet is in Battle Contact with Bylandt, without Drum.
Because missing Drum causes less effective musketry and in skirmishing (Type Values) French are better, moving closer is not a good option.
So for Marcognet it is best to stand and fight and wait for some General to restore Order.

British Orders:
Uxbridge's ABC rides to Vivian and transmit order to move forward, against Jacquinot.
Wellington: "ADC, go to Nassau and move this troops behind Bylandt."
ADC rides to Nassau and command: "Form column, follow me!"

Fire:
Batteries of Bylandt(6), Chasse(4), Ompteda(2) and Alten(2) continued fire. 4 Hits was caused, but they have now ammo for only one turn left.
French artillery fire caused 2 Hits to Ompteda. La Haie Sainte is on the edge of fall.
French skirmishers caused 1 Hit to Saxe-Weimar, but in volley fire Durutte lost his last life and rout.

Move:
Vivian moved forward against Jacquinot.
Nassau moved behind Bylandt.

French Orders:
Napoleon: "ADC, go and send Duhesme to near to Pappelote."
ADC rides to Duhesme and repeat order.
Ney rides back to Napoleon and activates Milhaud: "Milhaud, move your corps to right flank, cover Jacquinot and sweep off enemys flank!"
D'Erlon halted Donzelot with order to restore.

Fire:
Allix battery fired 1 against Ompteda. But as Opteda was protected, the firing result is 1+1=2. Result - two Hits instead of three.
From British artillery fire Allix get two disorders and lost one life.
Donzelot get Hit, but as fully disordered, the Hit becomes to Kill and Donzelot lost one Life.
Durutte caused one Hit to Saxe-Weimar with skirmish fire, but lost his last life in volley fire and routed.

Move:
Donzelot stops.
Simmer stops behind Donzelot.
